Friendship Club
At Chabad a special child is just that. He or she is special and deserves to be treated as such. Our friendship circle pairs teenage volunteer big brother and sisters with special needs children including: autistic, downs syndrome, mental retardation and others.
We shower them with love and adoration which they cannot receive from any other foreign entity outside of their special homes. The objective of this never ending circle of love is to stimulate the teenagers to spend their free time in building these sometimes life-long cherished, character molding relationships.
The special child receives the love, attention, care and concern that he or she truly deserves, and offers a respite of sorts to the families of these special children as others begin to help them shoulder the tremendous responsibilities of having a special child in their family.
