Dear Parents,

It is no secret that The JECC is perhaps our community’s premier incubator for Judaism’s finest ambassadors to the world. We have all experienced the songs which we hear throughout our homes, the thoughts which they share at bedtime or around a Shabbat table, and of course their many precious art projects. Your JECC child articulates to anyone who cares to listen, their enthusiastic, contagious love for their newly attained pride as knowledgeable Jews. Left to these little people, our people’s future will be bright.

As parents, it remains our obligation to be fully present, not as a spectator but rather as an active participant, in our children’s boundless joy and the capacity they generate to bring a refreshing Judaic lifeline into our homes and lives.

With immense pleasure, I am able to share with you the enclosed. Our JECC has been chosen to begin a partnership initiative with The Kohelet Fellowships Program. KFP is an opportunity for parents of all backgrounds to be part of an engaging learning community. This a is a 1-2 year experience during which you will engage with peers from your own child’s school, in the study of Jewish texts and tradition, mirroring – at an adult level – what your children are bringing home. Any parents with children in our 3 and 4 year old classes can apply.

Aside from the professionally prepared adult education dimension, you will be able to socialize with fellow parents from our school and others. As a fellow your tuition is paid by Kohelet. In addition, you will be eligible for up to $2500 towards your child’s private Jewish Day School tuition!!

For each of the two years you participate in this fellowship, you will “bank” grant money. If and when you enroll your child in a community Jewish Day School, that money will be credited to your tuition. The grants are $1000/year if one parent participates or $1250/year if both parents participate. Grants will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited. Deadline is July 20, 2012 at

I consider it a genuine honor to personally lead these Kohelet Fellowship/JLI courses. I hope that you will seize this gift being offered. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at should you have any questions.

I look forward to joining you on this life-enhancing journey of self discovery.

With my fondest wishes for a wonderful summer, I remain,

Truly yours,

Rabbi Sholom Ciment
