BOYNTON BEACH SYNAGOGUE AND JEWISH COMMUNITY

For thousands of years, Jews all over the world have gathered to pray - to dwell in the house of their ancestors. From the tents in the desert to the Great Temples and to the synagogues that would insure the future of their children’s children for eternity, Jews have gathered in these houses of worship.

The synagogue (shul) has become a spiritual haven for the Jewish people. Shul is home for our holy Torah, an island of peace in a troubled world and an address of warmth in the world’s haze of coldness, ignorance and egocentrism.

Our shul and its services are welcoming and joyous. Everyone regardless of previous experience participates freely. Its multi-purpose use allows Jewish life-cycle events to be celebrated with the aura of grandeur and wholesome spirituality. Our new shul is called “home” by the thousands of lives who have been touched, nourished and enriched.

The birds and many of the land animals forbidden by the Torah are predators, while the permitted animals are not. We are commanded not to eat those animals possessive of a cruel nature, so that we should not absorb these qualities into ourselves
